Biography:
Bernard Fate was born on May 24th, 1970, the south of Germany,
near Augsburg. At the age of 14 he discovered Depeche Mode - and he was quite
impressed by their songs. This was the point of no return...
He bought a small red monophonic synthesizer in 1986 and started to make noise.
He was very impressed by the experimental tones and he was fascinated by the idea
at this point of time of not only listening to music but getting involved in its
creation and writing own material.
Of course in the beginning he had little experience in creating music and he
lacked the technical ability to create great sound with the limited resources he had.
His first attempts weren't too bad and he soon realized he had the potential to
create a sound that he would be proud of and could share with other similar minded people.
In this period he discovered stranger and darker sounds from bands like Front 242,
Poesie Noire, Shock Therapy, Bel Canto, Joy Division.
He finally purchased a polyphonic synthesizer and a sequencer, which has enabled him
to take his music to the next level. He finally built up a small home studio and was
able to transform his initial fragmented works into something that has now become the
trademark sound of Bernard Fate. In 1993 he invested in a computer which has been an
asset and instrument in creating his music.
